Our Leadership

The JUDAS year is split into three-thirds - terms - that we have named after devil-adjacent women. The year starts with Jezebel's Term. In Christian theology, Jezebel was the wife of Ahab, King of Israel, and is known for purging the prophets of Israel - she is a symbol of female empowerment and dangerous promiscuity. Jezebel's Term spans from January to May. Next is Lilith. According to Jewish theology, Lilith was the first independent woman created, banished from the Garden of Eden for disobeying Adam - she is known for being a strong female figure, and unashamedly disobedient. Lilith's Term spans from May to August. The year ends with Bastet, the Egyptian goddess of pregnancy, childbirth, and fertility. In Ancient Egyptian culture, she was a protector and defender of women's rights - an uncharacteristically radical and violent figure, who would do anything for those she swore to protect. Bastet's term spans from September to December. 

Each term, the Board appoints a Chair from their ranks, and the Chair appoints an Editor-in-Chief from outside of the Board's members. The Chair may serve as many terms as they are elected, but may not serve more than one term in succession. 

Term I (Lilith 2021)
May '21 to August '21
Caitlin N. Collins served her first term as Chair during the first term, for Lilith of '21. She appointed Frankie E.J. Robinson for his first term as Editor-in-Chief for the duration of her term.

Term II (Bastet 2021)
September '21 to December '21
Rebecca A. Green served her first term as Chair during the second term, for Bastet of '21. She appointed Frankie E.J. Robinson for his second term as Editor-in-Chief for the duration of her term.

Term III (Jezebel 2022)
January '22 to April '22
Anna J. McCauley served her first term as Chair during the third term, for Jezebel of '22. She appointed Frankie E.J. Robinson for his third term as Editor-in-Chief for the duration of her term.

Term IV (Lilith 2022)
May '22 to August '22
Andrew M. Huang served his first term as Chair during the fourth term, for Lilith of '22. She appointed Frankie E.J. Robinson for his fourth term as Editor-in-Chief for his third term for the duration of her term.

Term V (Bastet 2022)
September '22 to December '22
Alex M. Mortimer served his first term as Chair during the fifth term, for Bastet of '22. He appointed Frankie E.J. Robinson for his fifth term as Editor-in-Chief for the duration of her term.

Term VI (Jezebel 2023)
January '22 to April '22
Andrew M. Huang is serving his second term as Chair during the sixth term, for Jezebel of '22. He appointed Frankie E.J. Robinson for his sixth term as Editor-in-Chief for the duration of her term.

Term VII (Lilith 2023)
May '22 to August '22
Rebecca A. Green will serve her second term as Chair during the seventh term, for Lilith of '23.

Deviance, Dahmer, and Death

There  have been six dramatisations of Jeffery Dahmer's murders since 1993:   The Secret Life: Jeffery Dahmer  (1993),   Dahmer  (2002),   Raising Jeffery Dahmer  (2006)(2008),   The Jeffery Dahmer Files  (2008),   My Friend Dahmer  (2017), and finally Netflix's   Dahmer - Monster: The Jeffery Dahmer Story  (2022). They could be better at coming up with original titles, couldn't they? Or original concepts, come to think of it. It's almost like they're not adding anything, just recycling content to profit off death.                Evan Peters as 2022's Dahmer. True crime dominates the media market, polluting each corner of the internet with the depraved need for gory and gruesome details of  actual  crimes, involving real people. Where has this need come from? Is true crime as a genre ethical? Historical Women of Power II: Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz

Born as Juana Inés de Asbaje y Ramírez de Santillana in 1648, Juana is the reason I renamed my 'Ancient Women of Power' series to the 'Historical Women of Power' series. Despite being born far from the classical period, her feminism and strikingly modern thought were too inspirational not to include.  She was born in New Spain, Mexico, to descendants of Spanish immigrants. Despite her link to the noble Spanish, she seemed destined for a middle-class life, as she was born out of wedlock. Her father, a Spanish military officer, left her mother to raise Juana and her sisters alone. Despite her illiteracy and Mexican society's misogyny, Juana's mother successfully ran one of her father's estates and was determined on educating her children in the way she never was.
